Manchester City announced on Monday that it will place a statue at the Etihad Stadium in honor of Spaniard David Silva, who said goodbye to the club this season after 10 years of service. The midfielder will also have a dedication in one of the fields of the Training Center of the base categories. The statue is expected to be ready in 2021.
David Silva defended City for 10 seasons. He played 436 official games for the English club, for which he won the Premier League four times, twice the FA Cup, five times the English League Cup, and twice the English Super Cup.
“The time has come. Ten years and 13 titles later, I say goodbye to the club that marked my career and my life. Manchester City and I grew up together. I want to tell everyone that it was a huge honor to wear that shirt, wear it with pride the captain’s armband, sharing the locker room with the best teammates, coaches, employees, and directors. It was a pleasure to share so much with you, you will always be in the bottom of my heart” said David Silva, in summary.
